Song: "Love Lifted Me"

I was sinking deep in sin, Far from the peaceful shore Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more But the Master of the sea heard my despairing cry From the waters lifted me now safe am I

The Worship Center International Ministries

The History

Walk with us down memory lane as we share with you the creation and timeline of the church.

The church is not a place. It's a body -- a family with blood ties through Jesus Christ. So we are not just a church but a family, so welcome to the family of Christ!

The History

The Genesis:

And God said, “Let there be light: and there was light….”

And God said, “Let there be in the month of November in the year 2001 The Port Saint Lucie Worship Center, and there was The Port Saint Lucie Worship Center….”

And HISTORY was in the making!

The Ministry started in an upstairs space above the Heaven Sent Hair & Nail Salon owned by Gerald & Novlet Green. The Upper Room, as it was affectionately called, was the birthing place of the PSL Worship Center, where prayers and services were held for approximately four months before they had to seek a larger location.

A facility in the same building became available, was renovated, and its first service was an Easter Sunday Celebration held in March 2002. Anointing was released on Bishop Green for healing and deliverance.

The Growth

Numerous outreach ministries manifested as the Worship Center began to grow in numbers and anointing. These ministries included

  • The Prison Ministry at MCI, Rock Road, Okeechobee, and the Prison Work Release Program
  • The Juvenile Intervention Ministry at the Juvenile Detention Center on Bell Avenue in Fort Pierce, Florida
  • The Nursing Home Ministry
  • The Food Pantry Ministry, in collaboration with the Treasure Coast Food Bank
  • The Overseas Missions Ministry and the organization of The Worship Center International Ministry- Jamaica Branch
  • The Worship Center Human Services was also organized to facilitate the building of housing facilities for men, women, and children and procuring grants and donations to restore and empower a challenged sector of our society.
  • The ‘Veta Barker Scholarship Fund’ was established under the Human Services Department and was designed to be a hardship scholarship, helping the less fortunate realize their academic dreams.

The Expansion

The vision continued on October 2nd, 2016, as they occupied the West Campus Sanctuary on Port St. Lucie Blvd with great joy and delight. This facility was renovated to accommodate the ministry worship services and took approximately four years to manifest.

Two weeks before occupying the West Campus Sanctuary, God outdid their greatest dream of a larger facility by providing the North campus, a facility of over 12000 sq. ft. sanctuary space, and a separate childcare facility on 5.8 acres located at 6501 St. James Drive, Port St. Lucie……This very property is now occupied!!

Fulfilling the destiny and trusting the future to God through our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ! They have recently seen the manifestation of two of the ministry’s expansion and outreach visions:

  • Little Feet Learning Center is a Daycare and Aftercare Program that was started in August 2018 under the management of Mike and Karla Young
  • The PSL Worship Center’s Landscape, Pressure Washing, and Pool business was launched in November 2018 under DBA ‘Three In One Property Maintenance Services.
  • The giving of God’s people has accomplished numerous renovations and upgrades of the facility and the grounds.

The Current (Covid-19)

During the unprecedented and grievous times of the lockdown of the United States and the world due to the Corona Virus outbreak in March 2020, the PSL Worship Center was able to maintain communication and ministry to God's people by utilizing the Social media platforms of Facebook Live, Zoom, YouTube and a physical presence of a Drive-Up Service facilitated by the open green-spaces of their facility.

With the return to their Sanctuary Worship space, all precautions were made and are still enforced to ensure their congregants' optimum safety and comfort.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.
